Build a Turnout the Retford Way at this year’s expoEM on 20-21 May 2012

at The Bracknell Leisure Centre

Roy Jackson and John McCrea will be running a track building workshop at expoEM 2012 aimed at the beginner. Participants will build a turnout using the copperclad sleeper construction method that Roy has used on Retford. The workshop will run on Saturday afternoon (1.30pm – 4.30pm) and repeated on the Sunday morning (10.30am – 1.30pm).

Places are very limited and will be offered strictly on a first-come-first-served basis. Booking details will be in the forthcoming Newsletter and after publication will also be available on this website. Successful applicants will then be asked for payment in advance to confirm the place.

The fee of £20.00 will include the following materials:

Mounted re-useable turnout template

Pre-made crossing Vee

Rail

Sleeper strip.

 

Participants will be required to bring with them a soldering iron, solder and other basic hand tools needed for construction. Successful applicants will be provided with a full list and all items will be available to purchase at expoEM from Eileens Emporium and the EMGS Trade Stores.
